Reinvent Act 2 Life after 60 Are you feeling like a “has been?” You missed all the knocks of opportunity and there are none left? You missed the boat, didn’t do the thing and now it is too late? Do you wonder if people will remember you and your legacy? You know you are called to write that book, create that podcast but.. You hate the sound of your voice!! Everybody does at first. Who will listen? Read? Not your problem, if you are called to share your job is to share. I am not tech savvy! We all know someone younger who can help us out. It’s called reverse mentoring. Do you have regrets now? Let’s not take them to the grave. You are brave enough to do that thing, live that dream, it’s not too late!! Good news!! Hi there, I’m Laurie and I felt the same way! It seemed like life was passing me by as I was a single mom raising three kids on my own. Making decisions that where good for the family but not in line with the dreams I held. Doing what was right to support them. I struggled with depression and feeling like my “good life” was over. I was over 50 when my youngest graduated high school and I thought I missed out on everything. Now what? I re invented my dream, told a friend, and started walking in the direction I was terrified of and boy, did I get a lot of nos. I persevered and you can too. I persevered because I listened to people who had overcome challenges, rediscovered their purpose, found fulfillment after 60, started over, created their Act 2, embraced change and new beginnings. Thank you to those who were brave enough to share so we would have hope and believe in a possible future filled with joy. You will even hear some brave souls get coached into their Act 2. Grab your coffee or tea and that beautiful journal you just bought to secretly think about your dreams and get ready to go for a ride. I am talking with lots of people just like you who in their second act of life made big changes reinvented themselves creating a life they love. It is so do able and they are going to share how they did it. I just know you are going to be encouraged and maybe even come up with a plan for your Act 2. If not now, when? If not you, who? If not this, what? What if these brave souls who have shared their heart and their story said NO rather than yes? Do you wish they had a book if they don’t already? Would you read/listen to it? You are just like them. You have a story and it is the answer to someones prayer. 09 Tracy Mattox packed up her life and moved to a new state after her hubby who has Asperger’s Syndrome, said the marriage was over actually after the honeymoon. After 28 years she shut down her business and moved to find her identity and reinvent her life, Act 2. Dealing with all the disappointments she found healing and has written a book to share her journey. Using her creativity that had been a bit dormant she created a beautiful coloring book and is living her new life back in her hometown. Was it easy, NO was it worth it? YES.

Julie Whitehead is the author of Shadowed: How I Became the Sex Trafficked Mother Next Door. Julie talks about her early childhood abuse that set her up for a life of abuse, including domestic violence and sex trafficking. Her work with iamonwatch.org is to help raise awareness that trafficking is happening under our noses and the more we know the better we can help rescue women children who are trafficked in our own community. Julie was a preschool teacher and the father of a student befriended her and well, listen in to hear the whole story. This may be hard to listen to and might even be a trigger, if you need help or support 888-373-7888 is the sex trafficking hot line. Use it if you or someone you know is being trafficked. If it triggers more than that the crisis hotline is 988 get help! Get support! People will believe you!!!

Suzanne Perkins Newman lost her job due to the incredible responsibility of caring for her aging mother. She was at the height of her career and was shocked they didn’t allow the FMLA plan for her. While dealing with the ramifications of this, taking care of and supporting her mother, she reinvented her life in an industry that needed someone just like her. Answers for Elders was created with a podcast to follow and a whole new life she loves. Oh and by the way, did I mention in the midst of all of this she met the love of her life? Oh and did I mention puppies? When adversity strikes, say thank you. There is good in the world and we deserve to have it.
Care giving will take you dreams with self inflected guilt and lack of self care and self love. Get ahead of the game with Answers for Elders and don't fall into the trap of martyrdom it doesn't serve anyone. There is help and support and you can still have a life.

04 Ashlee Anderson, divorced her company and it broke her heart!! She went from Gucci and Chanel to sneakers and t-shirts living on a bus. Not just any bus she remodeled it into a home so she and her partner could live the “bus/van life” on the beaches of California. She not only reinvented and recreated her life, she built the life she had actually always wanted and didn’t even realize until the carpet was pulled out from under her. Lisa Shelby reinvented her life not once but twice. The first time after a divorce creating a cleaning business that allowed her the freedom to not only home school but afford to raise her three daughters. Once they were raised and on their own, she became licensed as a pastor and received her Bachelors degree.
